On Saturday, July 8, we hosted the first Rivals of Poker pre-season championship & launch event in collaboration with the Downtown Grand Hotel/Casino in Las Vegas.

Fans of e-sports and poker came to join the fun and witness a sit-n-go poker game pitting pros Samantha Abernathy, Jeff Gross, and Rory Brown against Tashah Johnson-- the top rated poker player in Rivals of Poker in June.

Tashah beat out other players on the Rivals of Poker app by playing solid poker and accumulating the most skill-trophies in the game in the previous month. As a result, She and a guest were flown out for an exciting all-expenses paid weekend trip to Vegas for the event.

While Samantha ended up winning the heated 1 hour match, Tashah put up a valiant performance, vowing to continue her poker journey:

"Playing Rivals of Poker is so much fun. To actually be here now, live with actual poker pros, it makes me feel that I might want to become a pro myself!"  -- Tashah Johnson

Many thanks to the Downtown Grand for working with us to host the event and opening the doors to their e-sports bar/commissary and pool deck to us.

“Rivals of Poker is taking a fresh approach to a traditional gaming product, which fits perfectly with our evolving vision of our venue’s position in the Las Vegas community.”
-- Max Curtis, Esports Director at Downtown Grand.
